Normal Care Instructions

To keep your WOO happy, below are a few tips on how to handle it. Note that for us to warranty any defect devices, normal care instructions need to be adhered to at any time. The WOO is, after all, a piece of electronic, and is subjected to a very harsh environment, with abrasive sand, corrosive salt water and harsh sunlight.

❗️

Risk of Warranty Void

Not following normal care instructions can lead to corrosion of the contacts, which will void your warranty on your WOO device. Please charge your WOO frequently to avoid depth discharge due to inactivity.

1. Take the WOO out of the mount immediately after your session

Valid for all WOO versions.

When you are done with your session, take the WOO out of the mount immediately. Leaving it in the mount will subject the WOO to unnecessary stress and strain.

2. Rinse the WOO with fresh water and dry after use

Valid for WOO versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

As soon as possible, rinse the WOO off with a splash of fresh water and dry it with a towel or cloth. Allow it to air dry until no residual moisture is left before charging up your WOO for the next session.

3. Rinse / dry off the WOO Mount

Valid for WOO 3.0 Frequent Flyer Mount

Particularly if you use a WOO 3.0 mount (clear "GoPro" style case), after each session, rinse it off with fresh water, wash out any sand, and let dry completely before using again.

4. Charge Frequently

Valid for WOO versions 1.0, 2.0 and 3.0

The WOO, like any other device using a rechargeable battery, doesn't like to be left uncharged for prolonged amounts of time. If you give your WOO device a little love about every month by charging it up, its battery will last longer. Leaving it drained for prolonged amounts of time will hurt the battery performance significantly.

5. Store at room temperature

Valid for all WOO versions.

When not using it for prolonged amounts of time, store your WOO at room temperature. Always give your WOO a full charge before storing it.

6. Do not leave the WOO in the charger

Valid for all WOO versions.

The WOO is using a LiPo (Lithium Polymer) battery. Leaving the device in the charger after it is fully charged will negatively affect the battery performance. Always remove the WOO from the charger when fully charged.

7. Always perform Firmware Updates when available

Valid for all WOO versions.

New firmware versions are released frequently. They improve the stability and reliability of your WOO device, and assure that it will function as long as possible. Always perform firmware updates when available. If your device has an out-of-date firmware version, a pop-up will appear when you connect your device on the My WOO screen.

8. Avoid getting sunscreen on your WOO

Valid for all WOO versions.

Sunscreen contains chemical substances that can be harmful to plastic materials. Avoid getting sunscreen on your WOO, since it can lead to discolorations and deteriorating materials. If you get any on your WOO by accident, make sure to wash and rinse it thoroughly.
